Refine Your Targeting Strategy 

One of the things that makes Facebook and Instagram so appealing to advertisers is the ability to have a great targeting strategy.

Just like a good offer and excellent copy, the people you show your ads to is insanely important. 

That is, only if you want to get the most out of your Facebook ad campaigns.

This is why it's so crucial to get your targeting strategy down pat.

A Targeting Strategy You'll Mostly Never Want To Use

One thing I've noticed many people get wrong with their targeting is that their campaigns target friends of fans.

Here's the thing though, a friend of a fan isn't necessarily the ideal customer for you, so you'll need to refine your targeting further to get more out of it.

Think about the people you're friends with… 

Odds are you have some VERY diverse connections on Facebook.  

For example, your mom or dad, grandma, great aunt Betty….

You probably don't have a lot of similar shopping/buying similarities. 

That being said, if you were to target my friends with an offer, you're going to be targeting my mom, my grandma and my great aunt Betty…

Not necessarily the ideal prospect for your offer!
