Simplicity In Business: The Small Business Advantage

Simplicity in business can be such a huge advantage.

As a small business owner, you have a level of flexibility and adaptability that bigger companies just don’t have.

This allows you to make rapid decisions and develop your strategy quickly.

I used to be an area VP of the business-to-business channel of AT&T.

While working there, I noticed that things took a long time to get approved, executed, and rolled out.

With thousands of employees, you couldn’t just make a decision and implement it the next day.

As an entrepreneur, things are very different.

The Agile Nature of Entrepreneurial Businesses

With your flexibility and adaptability, you have an advantage over the big businesses like AT&T because they have so much more red tape that you don’t have.

Now, they might have a lot more budget and resources as well but it takes them forever to get any assets produced or to make any strategic decisions.

In all honesty, we can make decisions quickly.

As a matter of fact, this is the beauty of simplicity in business.

To say nothing of the fact that we can test, fail, and ultimately move forward faster than the big companies.

With social posts, email marketing, and Facebook and Instagram ads, you can hone and shape your campaigns to suit the market needs.

And so, just think about Uber or AirBnB.

These companies have disrupted industries and were able to do what they’ve done by making nimble decisions in the beginning.

If they had started as large companies, those important decisions may never have been made.

So, I hope you embrace the flexibility and adaptability that you possess as a small business owner.

Simplicity in business is a great asset.

Because of this, use it to your advantage.
